Sometimes you have a change of heart about someone and aren’t sure how to cancel a date via text.
Or maybe you realized your date actually looks like a lizard after some research and you don’t want to meet up anymore. (This is why I recommend meeting women in real life!)
Whatever the case, articulating your thoughts depends on your long term goal with the other person. Here are 3 different ways on how to cancel a date using text:
If you want to see the person again
Hey! I’m sorry, but something came up and I can’t make it tonight. Can we reschedule for Monday or Tuesday next week?
Providing alternative days lets the other person know you are still interested.
If you don’t want to see the person again
Hey! I’m sorry, but something came up and I can’t make it tonight.
Notice how there wasn’t a mention of rescheduling? This is a clue to your date that you lost interest for one reason or another. Hopefully, the other party reads between the lines. (If you are over this person, make sure you continue practicing your approach.)
If you are indifferent
Hey! I’m so sorry, but something came up and I can’t make it tonight. Maybe another time.
This is when you are unsure about the person and need more time to think it over. You haven’t a firm made a decision yet.
Let me know if you have used any of these or have another text that’s worked for you. I would love to hear from you! Comment below.
